How Does Lottoland Work?
To start off our Lottoland review let’s first take a look at how the site works. Initially, the site took lotto bets by allowing Australians to bet on the outcomes of official lotteries around the world.
However, this was changed in 2019 into ‘Jackpot Betting.’ Jackpot betting creates fixed-amount prize pools where the winning numbers are determined by the values of certain financial markets.
Lottoland Australia uses the last two digits of the initial values of certain financial markets at the end of a week or day. They then place all the digits in order to create a 10-digit number. The number is the ID of the quasi lotto combination.
The winning numbers are decided by financial markets to ensure the resulting numbers are unknown to anyone. Since the numbers are completely random and cannot be manipulated by anyone, everyone has a fair shot.
Players can choose any numbers between a certain range when playing the jackpot lotteries. They may also use a random number generator if need be. Winning numbers will be generated by the site at a specific time each day/week.
Our Lottoland review also uncovered some unique features and advantages that aren’t available when betting on the lotto normally:
- The payouts and deposits are for winnings are extremely fast.
- A number of free tickets are available.
- Special game types not available with normal lotto tickets can be found on the site.
- Number Shield Betting allows you to keep winnings to yourself, even if other people have the same numbers.
Still, looking to learn more about how the online lotteries are conducted? Our Lottoland review found the ‘FAQ’ section of the website to be very helpful.
What Lotteries can you bet on with Lottoland Australia?
Our Lottoland review found that the operator offers a range of jackpot lotteries for players to bet on. Lotteries are generally either weekly or daily and give users the chance to win millions from jackpots. Some of the most popular lottos currently available at Lottoland Australia are:
Lottoland Powerball
Originally the Lottoland Powerball, the US Powerball draws twice weekly on Tuesday and Thursday, bets close at 11:00 pm AEST. The main jackpot begins at a massive $200 million making it one of the biggest jackpot lottos on the site!
The odds of hitting the main jackpot on the US Power is 1: 292,201,338 and there are 9 winning tiers. The price per ticket is $5 in which users must pick 5 numbers and a Super Number.
As mentioned above, the US Power is a Super Number Jackpot. This means the numbers for the jackpot are decided by financial markets. Numbers are generated based on the opening values of selected Financial Market Indexes at 9:30 am ET.
Formula:
- Dow Jones Ind. Avg- 1st Decimal
- Dow Jones Ind. Avg- 2nd Decimal
- NASDAQ Biotechnology- 1st Decimal
- NASDAQ Biotechnology- 2nd Decimal
- S&P 500- 1st Decimal
- S&P 500- 2nd Decimal
- Dow Jones Transportation Avg- 1st Decimal
- Dow Jones Transportation Avg: 2nd Decimal
- NASDAQ 100 Financial: 1st Decimal
- NASDAQ 100 Financial: 2nd Decimal
Syndicates are available for the US Power in which players may split prize money based on their initial investment.
Lottoland Mega Millions
The Lottoland Mega Millions was renamed in the US Millions and is drawn twice weekly on Wednesday and Friday at 11:00 pm AEST. The jackpot lottery boasts a minimum jackpot of $184 Million and gives a 1 : 302,575,350 shot at hitting it.
Much like the US Powerball, there are 9 winning tiers and the price per ticket is $5. Players will be required to pick 5 numbers plus a Super Number to take part.
The US Millions uses the same financial markets are the US Powerball but the numbers are used in a different order. To hit the jackpot users must match all five numbers they pick and the Super Number.
Lottoland Daily/Weekly Lotteries
Our Lottoland review found four more lotteries available on the site on top of US Powerball and US Millions. The lotteries are:
Thursday Jackpot
This one takes place every Thursday, the lottery has a $55,000,000 jackpot. Bets close at 11:00 pm AEST every Thursday and results are taken from the opening values of selected Financial Markets at 09:30 am ET. Chances of hitting the jackpot are 1:134,490,400 and the price of tickets are $3 each.
Tuesday Jackpot
The jackpot starts at 8 million and tickets cost only $2. Hitting the jackpot is much more likely than other lotteries with a 1:45,379,620 chance. There are seven winning tiers for the Tuesday Jackpot and players are required to choose 7 numbers and 2 extra numbers.
Monday & Wednesday Jackpot
This is a bi-weekly jackpot which is held on both Monday and Wednesday for a very low $1. The jackpot for the lottery is fixed at $2.5 Million. The chance of hitting big on the jackpot is 1:8,145,060, requiring players to hit all 6 of their numbers and 2 extra numbers.
Daily Millions
The Daily Millions is played every single weekday, giving players the chance to score up to $100 Million. Tickets cost $2.50 and need to be submitted before 11:00 pm AEST every day.
*All of the lotteries named above provide users with the chance to play by themselves or using syndicates.
Lottoland Syndicates
Lottoland betting syndicates allow you to make multiple bets for a given jackpot or jackpots with other players. You will then receive a share of the winnings if any of the bets win. The idea behind syndicates is the larger the number of bets the higher your chances of winning.
Each Lottoland Australia syndicate has a set number of shares. So for example, if you enter a syndicate with 20 shares and purchase 1 share, you will receive 1/20th of the winnings. If you had purchased 5 shares you would get 1/4th of the syndicates’ winnings and so on.
To enter a syndicate at Lottoland Australia click on the ‘Syndicates’ button on the main menu bar. You may then choose which lottery you would like to wager on and join/buy shares. Shares prices for syndicates can vary greatly but are generally between $5-$100.
Syndicates a great way to alleviate the burden of buying a large number of tickets while increasing your chance to win.

Payouts, Withdrawals and Winners
Our Lottoland review wouldn’t be complete without a look at the payment options available for deposits and withdrawals:
Lottoland Payout Rules
Our Lottoland review found that the site guarantees all payouts for lotteries using an insurance structure. Lottoland has taken out insurance policies for any massive jackpots that are hit. There are no taxes charged on winnings from Lottoland.
In order to obtain their license, the operator had to prove that they could pay out any amount they advertise. In general, all payouts are instantly credited to a player’s account and can be withdrawn in 2-3 days.
2-3 days is substantially quicker than other lotto sites which usually require 2 weeks.
Our Lottoland review found that before you may receive your payout you may be required to verify your identity. The following information will be required for a successful verification:
- Passport/ Driver’s License/ Government ID
- A bank or utility bill with proof of address
How to Withdraw Money from Lottoland?
After you have verified your identity you may simply visit the ‘Cashier’ section to withdraw money from Lottoland. You may specify any amount you would like to withdraw from your account as there are no minimum withdrawal restrictions.

Lottoland will not charge any fees for withdrawals, however, your bank may incur a fee.

Customer Support at Lottoland Australia
Customer Support at Lottoland was one of the major focuses of our Lottoland review. We found that the site offers one of the better support systems which provides 3 methods of contact:
- Live Chat

Live chat is the recommended method for contacting the support team, with extremely fast responses. To launch live chat you may simply click on the ‘LIVE CHAT’ widget found on the right-hand side of each webpage. Lottoland Australia Review Overview
Our Lottoland Australia review concludes that the operator is one of the best lottery-based sites in the region. While Lottoland no longer offers the chance to play international lotteries, the jackpot lotteries that are now available provide different opportunities.
The lotteries all provide larger jackpots than normal and the chance to play all throughout the week. The US Powerball and US Million, in particular, give players the chance to win hundreds of millions on a bi-weekly basis.
The Lottoland App is arguably the site’s biggest selling point. The app is very easy to use and gives players the ability to buy tickets within seconds. Browser-based mobile betting is also available if needed.
Where our Lottoland Australia review found that the operator could improve is with payment methods and daily games. At the moment there are only 4 deposit options available on the site and only bank transfer withdrawals. We expect the number of payment providers to increase over the next couple of years.

A SINGLE winning Powerball ticket matching all six numbers in the second-highest lotto draw in US history has been sold in Massachusetts.
The location of the winner was revealed on Thursday. The ticket in the massive Powerball draw with an estimated jackpot of $US700 million ($A886 million) matched all six numbers — 6, 7, 16, 23, 26 and 4.
The lucky ticket holder can now choose whether to have the jackpot paid out over 29 years, or take a lump sum cash payment estimated at US$443 million (A$560 million) after taxes.
Odds of winning such a huge prize are never great, but a subtle manipulation of the rules means the chance of winning is currently lower than ever.

The Washington Post reports the number of balls in the draw was increased from 59 to 69 in 2015 — and while it doesn’t sound like a big difference, the odds of winning plummeted from roughly one in 175 million to one in 292 million.
To put that into perspective, National Geographic estimates the chance of being struck by lightning is around one in 700,000, while Quartz reports you’re more likely to die from an asteroid strike.
Even if a person was to produce a winning ticket, it’s possible they’d have to share the prize due to burgeoning public interest among casual lottery players.
The jackpot has been growing since June, and is the second largest in US history, behind a US$1.6 billion top prize in 2016 shared between three winning tickets.
Prizes that big are enough to prompt people who don’t normally buy lottery tickets to go out of the way for a chance at winning the big bucks.

In fact, in 2016 Americans spent US$80 billion (A$101 billion) on lottery tickets — more than movies, video games, books, music and sports combined.
Even Australians got into the action on today’s draw.
Although the lottery itself was only open to US residents, Lottoland — based in the Northern Territory — accepted bets on the outcome of the draw.
The company said at the start of the week they had noticed a rush of bets being placed after the jackpot hit the US$600 million-mark last
Their website actually crashed when they took similar bets on last year’s record prize.
